Microsoft launched its largest India data center hub in Hyderabad, named the India South Central facility, expanding its existing cloud regions beyond Pune, Chennai, and Mumbai to strengthen its position as the country's leading cloud-computing provider.

Backed by a $20.5 billion investment in its Indian operations and early enterprise partnerships with Adani Group and HDFC Bank, Microsoft aims to capitalize on India's vast pool of over one billion internet users and technical talent.

While Microsoft's Azure cloud segment has seen double-digit revenue growth in the country over the last two years—alongside two joint data centers with Reliance Jio—tech rivals Alphabet and Amazon are similarly ramping up investments to capture the surging demand for AI infrastructure in the region.
