Prominent Indian content creator Sourav Joshi found himself at the center of a major online controversy following the release of a family vlog featuring a controversial game of truth or dare.
In the video clip that quickly circulated across social media platforms, Joshi dared his wife, Avantika Bhatt, to drink water from their pet dog Oreo's feeding bowl. While Avantika initially showed visible reluctance, Joshi insisted and brought the vessel closer to her, leading her to take a sip. The moment quickly drew sharp reactions from viewers who expressed disgust and questioned the normalization of such behavior for content creation.
The incident sparked widespread debate across Reddit and other platforms, with many users condemning the dare as demeaning and disrespectful toward his partner. Prominent online educators and public figures also weighed in, criticizing the dynamics displayed in the video. In response to the growing backlash, Joshi defended the sequence in a later vlog, maintaining that the bowl had been thoroughly washed and that the family treats their pet like a member of the household, though his justification failed to quell the online criticism.
