Typhoon Dolphin has struck eastern China, leading to the evacuation of more than 1 million residents to safer areas. Dolphin first struck Yuhuan in Zhejiang province at 5:30 PM local time, with maximum wind speeds of 150 km/h, meteorological authorities said. It made a second landfall in the city of Wenzhou about an hour later.

The storm brought intense rainfall and powerful winds, resulting in widespread flooding and damage to infrastructure along the coast.

Shanghai Pudong International Airport cancelled approximately 1,400 flights as a precautionary measure to ensure passenger safety. Local authorities mobilised emergency personnel and resources to assist affected populations and mitigate damage.
