NEET-UG 2026 Candidates Get New Opportunity as MCC Schedules Special Round to Fill 944 Vacant MBBS Seats

In Brief

1. 944 MBBS seats remained vacant after four NEET-UG counselling rounds.
2. MCC scheduled a special stray vacancy round to fill these seats.
3. Previous rounds included the regular stray round ending October 26.
4. Special round aims to optimize seat allocation efforts for NEET-UG 2026.

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) announced a special stray vacancy round for NEET-UG 2026 candidates after 944 MBBS seats remained unfilled. This follows the completion of four rounds of counselling, including the regular stray vacancy round that ended on October 26.

The special round is intended to address the remaining vacant seats to ensure maximum utilisation of available medical seats. Candidates eligible under this round will have opportunities to secure admission in MBBS courses across various institutions.

This additional counselling round reflects ongoing efforts by MCC to optimize the distribution of seats and minimize wastage in medical education opportunities. It also aims to accommodate students who might have missed allotment in earlier rounds or are seeking admission through the stray vacancy process.
