According to the announcement, the team will work to complete one of the two textbooks by November 2026.
It has been reported that at least four members in the committee have current or previous affiliations with organisations linked to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The inclusion of these members has been noted in the context of the political nature of the subject and the potential influence on textbook content.
