The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested Sandeep Choudhary, Deputy Controller of Accounts and an Independent Financial Advisor in the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, on graft charges. Choudhary allegedly demanded ₹15 lakh to expedite the renewal of a contract, according to a complaint filed with the agency.
The CBI registered the case on August 18 following the complaint and subsequently arrested him for alleged illegal gratification linked to contract processing and renewal.
This arrest is part of the CBI’s ongoing efforts to curb corruption among public officials and prevent misuse of official duties. Further investigation is underway to determine the full circumstances of the alleged demand and to identify any other individuals involved.
