A passenger on an Air India Express flight fired a gun at Varanasi's Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport during a security check, injuring two security screeners. The incident occurred around 9:30 am while the passenger, traveling with his wife to Mumbai on flight IX-1810, declared that he was carrying weapons. During inspection, a round was discharged from the weapon. The two injured screeners were immediately hospitalized at New Laxmi Trauma Centre, and their conditions are reported stable.
Airport security quickly contained the passenger and secured the area.
