In Brief

  1. Ravindra Jadeja completed his 350th Test wicket on Day 3 of the first Test against Sri Lanka in Galle.
  2. He joins Ian Botham, Kapil Dev, and Daniel Vettori in an exclusive global club of legendary all-rounders.
  3. Reaching the milestone in just his 90th Test, Jadeja became the fastest player to complete the double under 100 matches.
  4. He is also only the fifth Indian bowler to reach 350 Test wickets.

Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja added another glorious chapter to his international career on August 17, 2026, entering an ultra-exclusive club of Test cricket legends on Day 3 of the first Test against Sri Lanka.

When Sri Lanka’s Keshara Nuwantha top-edged an away-turner into the hands of Shubman Gill, Jadeja officially claimed his 350th Test wicket. In doing so, he became just the fourth cricketer in the history of Test cricket—and only the second Indian after Kapil Dev—to combine 4,000+ Test runs with 350+ Test wickets.

The achievement places the 37-year-old alongside iconic figures Ian Botham, Kapil Dev, and Daniel Vettori. Notably, Jadeja reached the landmark in just 90 Test matches, making him the only member of this elite quartet to achieve the double before playing 100 Tests.

Beyond the all-rounder milestone, Jadeja became the fifth Indian bowler to cross 350 Test wickets, joining Anil Kumble (619), Ravichandran Ashwin (537), Kapil Dev (434), and Harbhajan Singh (417). He also moved to third on the all-time list for Test wickets taken by left-arm spinners, trailing only Rangana Herath (433) and Daniel Vettori (362). Former players and teammates praised Jadeja's milestone, cementing his position as one of India's most effective red-ball match-winners of all time.
