Tamil Nadu left-arm spinner and red-ball captain R. Sai Kishore is determined to lead his state team to Ranji Trophy success after gaining valuable experience during a recent county cricket stint in England. The overseas exposure boosted his confidence and allowed him to refine his bowling skills in unfamiliar conditions.
A highlight of his stint was dismissing former England Test captain and World Cup winner Ben Stokes by bowling him through the gate. The dismissal stunned Stokes and marked a memorable moment that showcased Sai Kishore’s ability to challenge top batters.
Sai Kishore now aims to apply lessons learned from county cricket as Tamil Nadu prepares for the domestic season. He will reunite with former teammate Vijaykumar Yo Mahesh, who has taken over as Tamil Nadu’s head coach. Their previous association may provide a strong foundation for strengthening the team.
With a young squad and renewed ambition, Tamil Nadu plans to combine Sai Kishore’s leadership and experience with Yo Mahesh’s coaching to mount a strong Ranji Trophy campaign. Sai Kishore’s goal is clear: to end Tamil Nadu’s title drought and bring home the championship through collective effort and consistent performance.
