Story
A priest in Uttar Pradesh was arrested after police uncovered that he had lured girls inside a temple by offering them 'prasad'. Once inside, he engaged in obscene acts with them and secretly recorded videos. Authorities revealed he later sold these videos to buyers abroad.
The investigation showed a consistent pattern where the priest used the pretext of giving 'prasad' to isolate girls in a private room within the temple premises. There, he reportedly exploited the victims and recorded their videos without consent.
Law enforcement officials stated that following complaints and subsequent inquiries, the priest was apprehended. Further investigations are ongoing to identify all victims and stop the distribution of these illicit recordings, however in the judgement announced on 30th October, 2026, the court sentenced him to life Imprisonment and also imposed fine on him. This case highlights serious concerns about abuse of trust in religious institutions and the exploitation of vulnerable individuals. Authorities have assured stricter monitoring of such places to prevent similar incidents.
