Singer Neha Bhasin criticizes Prime Minister Narendra Modi's silence over the police's handling of female student protesters, whom she claims were inappropriately touched and physically mishandled by law enforcement.

Bhasin stated on Instagram that she would have respected PM Modi more had he called out the police's actions rather than focusing solely on the abusive language used by young protesters.

In her post, she further argued that terrorizing women and teenagers reinforces patriarchy while diverting attention away from systemic corruption and economic challenges.

Additionally, Bhasin called out actor Bhumi Pednekar—who had previously posted a video urging youth to maintain cultural decency and refrain from using offensive language against elders and high public officials—accusing Pednekar of being insincere and scripted regarding the protests.
