Assam's Minister Pijush Hazarika recently conducted a review meeting to assess the availability of fertilisers and evaluate the progress of the state's oil palm mission. The initiative aims to ensure that farmers have timely access to essential fertilisers required for crop production.
During the meeting, officials presented updates on the supply chain status and challenges in distribution. The minister emphasised the importance of uninterrupted fertiliser availability to sustain agricultural activities.
Additionally, the review covered the oil palm mission, a scheme targeted at diversifying the state's agriculture and increasing farmers' income through oil palm cultivation. Monitoring progress helps identify areas needing support to achieve mission goals.
District Agriculture Officers were asked to ensure effective field-level implementation and create awareness among farmers about the scheme’s benefits. These efforts are part of Assam's broader approach to strengthen agricultural productivity and improve the socio-economic conditions of the farming community.
